The faun is a half human- half goat manifestation of forest and animal spirits which would help or hinder humans at whim. Romans believed fauns inspired fear in men traveling in lonely, remote or wild places but were also capable of guiding humans in need.

Here is a representation of the modern Faun. A manifestation of nature in a world where nature is fleeting. He has shed his goat legs in favor of urban ready feet. No longer is he the spirit of nature as he is now the spirit of our man made environments residing in junk yards and broken relics. He is the mocking reminder of our lost reverence for mother nature.
